I wanted to know your thoughts on the most efficient and effective way to decrease body fat and create lean muscle mass. I can commit to weights about 3 times a week. Do you think it is more effective to do traditional weight training or do circuit training? Should I do full body workouts or split workouts? -

Hi Jamie,
I have been working out steadily for many years and have even ran several marathons! I just can't seem to thin out my legs... I've lifted heavy, I've lifted light, I've followed several Oxygen routines and they continue to look "tree-trunk-esq"; meanwhile from the top of the hip up, you can see every bone in my body! I noticed in Oxygen's June issue your legs look trim and muscular! How do you do it? I'm so frustrated... Any tips would be great! -

Hi Jamie,
I am recently a complete vegetarian as I do not eat any type of animal.(I used to eat seafood/chick/turk)but I am having a very diffacult time with what to eat and when to eat. I've pretty much been living on cereal, whole wheat eng. muffs, egg whites. I gave up drinking my 12pack + a day of soda and I have cut out alot of sugar and salt. But I am extremely BORED and don't always feel like eating nuts, rice, pasta and eggs! Can you help me figure out some sort of eating schedule(when to eat what and what times best and what goes with what?) I try not to eat alot of carbs, but then I'm exhausted during the day. I have been trying to drop some fat and put on muscle. (i am 5'2 and have always been 99 to 103 lbs but 2 yrs ago I put on 20 lbs!(my biggest ever). I have dropped 10 but cannot seem to lose more it seems anything i eat i go back up. I work out 5-6 days a week lifting weights and doing some cardio, but the cardio is really diffacult for me because I get so tired so fast. Anyways, I need to learn how to eat. Can you help me? I know it varies, but how long does it take to notice changes? I have never been in this situation. I could always eat fastfood, junk, fried, sodas and not even work out and now I'm stumped! Thank you for your time. -

I have just received a copy of the diet plan for a man, but wondered how the portion sizes are different for a woman. Also, on the lists of each type of food, other than portion size, are there limits to how much of each food you can eat? For example, vegetables don't have a portion size, so I assume they are not limited to their amount each meal. Just working on getting this together so I can do it. I have several family members who are doing it and they are looking great. Thanks so much for all your help. -

I am a guy 59 years old and been working out in the gym 3 days a weeks for 3 months with minimum cardio. I am going to step up the cardio to 3x weekly by riding my bicycle 30 minutes. I have lost 6 lbs. and gained some muscle mass and definition. My goal is to lose 15 more lbs. giving me a weight of 180 @ 6 ft. tall. Are there any training hints or weight loss supplements that you think might help along with the weight training and cardio? -

Hey Jamie,
I've heard that sprints is better than long cardio sessions to build muscle, is there a limit on how often a week? should I do them before or after a work out or completely seperate. I'm trying to gain muscle again, tho the food out here sucks I do the best I can. That last layer of fat doesn't move no matter what I do. One day at a time. Thank you for your inspiration, haven't met you but you seem like a really great down to earth woman. :) Thats awesome! Take care and stay safe on the road.

Hi Jamie,
just wanted to let you know that there's one more person you inspired - me :-) After some difficult years, I'm now sorting out my life of 32 years to start all over and - as luck has it - I came accross your site, and it absolutely fits. I wanted to finally take control, especially over my health and body. What better way to start than with creating it the way I want it to be? Thanks a lot for your good example. Wish you all the best.
Greetings from Germany! Take care, Micha -

Jamie, it was so great getting to meet you at the UFC fan Expo in Vegas. I think it is so cool how down to earth and gracious you are. I have to say that you by far are one of the most stunningly beautiful, drop dead gorgeous women that God in heaven has ever blessed this earth with. I am deploying to Afghanistan in a month and will definitely bring a copy of the picture we took to remind me of home and good times. Stay safe and God Bless. Semper Fi!!!!!!

Hi Jamie =) I'm looking for some help and hope you can assist me. I'm unsure how many calories I should be eating daily. I'm 5'2" 122 lbs., workout 4-5 days p/week and have a desk job. I've been doing three days circuit training w/ weights and 1-2 days cardio. I'm also wondering when doing sprints how long the entire session on the treadmill should be.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Jamie! Just wanted to say how much you have motivated me. I had a gym membership for a while then had to cancel it due to some unfortunate events in my life. One of them being a divorce. I went into a state of depression, but then I came across some of your photos and I thought to myself, "this is the most beautiful fitness model I have seen." I decided that if I ever wanted to get a woman as attractive as you I would have to move on and get back in the gym. So thanks for working so hard to stay beautiful and motivating so many people. God bless. -

Hi, Jamie. First time caller. I was looking for a real good way to get in great shape with little or no effort or change in my diet. But I really really want to be in great shape and incredibly attractive soooo...any thoughts? Also, are pop tarts a good source of fruit?
Thanks -

Hi Jamie,
I just wanted to say that you are a true inspiration to me! I read your articles in Oxygen and think that you are a beautiful person inside and out. Your tips are helpful and keep me motivated, I loved the plyometrics with the deck of cards-I wasn't quite ready to give up my T.V shows, but now I don't feel guilty. I did have a question on coffee though, I can't live without it but I don't know just how bad it is for you- I've heard mixed opinions...
Thanks!

Hi Jamie!! I am a huge fan, and was looking for a bit of advice. I am a fitness fanatic and am looking for a remedy for a problem not many articles cover. I am 5'4' 105pds. I have very low body fat and great muscle definition. I am hoping for and working toward a fitness career, But I am looking to add roughly 10 pounds without gaining much fat. If you could help me with a few tips on gaining healthy weight and adding muscle (especially in legs), I would greatly appreciate it. I believe this topic is very imortant and does not get enough attention. Thank you very much and good luck in your future! -

Hi Jamie!
I am so excited! I am a mother of 2 small boys, I am 2x surrogate mother & delivered twins Oct '09. I have just completed my 1st yr of nursing school, and now it is all about me!!! I have joined bodybuilding.com and I am on my way to the fittest "me" yet! You inspire me and I keep your picture on my lap top background as a reminder to myself of the work that lies ahead of me. I have started my fitness routine about a month ago,but I have always been fit & active, and a big nutrition "nut". I have lost about 20lbs and would like to loose about 20 more, but more importantly I was want to loose fat and gain muscle! I am hoping with your help and bodybuilding.com I can acheive my fitness goals. So thank you!!
